Spring Awakening: Why March is the Ultimate Month for a Wellness Reset

There is a reason we feel a sudden burst of energy when the clocks change and the London grey finally lifts. In the wellness world, March is the true New Year. While January is for hibernating, March is for emerging!

At Nirvana Hub, we see Spring as a physical and spiritual "unfolding." After a long winter of hunching our shoulders against the cold and sitting in heated rooms, our bodies are craving expansion.

The Physical Spring Clean: "Dusting Off" Your Joints

Winter tends to make us static. We move less, sit more, and our fascia (the connective tissue in our body) can become "sticky." Why not try some Pilates session if you haven’t already this month to get you moving?

  • Focus on Flow. This month, try and move away from static holds and toward continuous, fluid movement.

  • Incorporate more lateral flexion (side bends). It opens up the intercostal muscles between your ribs, allowing you to take in that fresh Spring air more deeply.

The Spiritual Unfolding: Planting Intentions

In the same way you might clear out your wardrobe this month, it’s time to clear out the mental "clutter" of winter.

  • Review Your Habits: Which routines served you in December but are holding you back in March?

  • The Power of Sunlight: With the days getting longer, aim to do your Nirvana Hub morning routine near a window. Sunlight triggers serotonin, which works in harmony with Pilates to boost your mood naturally.

Refresh Your Sanctuary

Your environment is a reflection of your internal state. If your workout corner is covered in laundry or your mat is looking a bit "well-loved" (read: tired), it’s time for a refresh.
